Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the custodian work of Woodland Ca. site Will also support and back up all Operations, Maintenance and Corporate Facility’s needs. Operates a variety of equipment and hand tools to perform this function. Coordinate with 3rd parties to complete work as needed. Works closely with Maintenance Manager, to coordinate and implementing all work.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:

  • Maintain all facility clean and appearance presentable.
  • Able to use leaf blower and all landscape equipment.
  • Pressure wash patio area in front of main office keeping it clean.
  • Use floor sweeper cart to clean all facility roads and parking lot areas every day.
  • Maintain all car chargers clean and presentable as well as outdoor furniture.
  • Pressure washes all pool vehicles.
  • Restock all vending machines and modular trailers with snacks and drinks twice a week.
  • Remove and empty out all trash cans from front parking and facilities area.
  • Help Maintenance team as needed on miscellaneous projects and minor repairs though out the facility.
  • Drain water to truck pits and refill once a week when Planting season.
  • The Custodian will coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to facilitate grounds upkeep at the Woodland site.
  • Maintains all building’s exterior walls clean as well as the inside.
  • Handles any safety issues immediately.
  • Ability to travel to other operations sites to perform work for periods up to one week at a time, this may be on any given Sakata property and any department as needed.
  • Attention to Quality work when doing all cleaning and repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must have ability to safely operate and perform minor repairs on equipment. Equipment includes utility vehicles, and multiple types of power equipment and hand tools including but not limited to rototillers, saws, drills, spray rig, etc.
  • Ability to communicate well in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to do accurate detailed work under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Must be available for extra hours or weekend duty as needed.
  • Ability to communicate electronically via computer and perform basic computer skills as needed to report progress etc.
  • Ability to handle stress especially when encountering necessary projects, deadlines and/or high workload.
  • Conduct work in a safely and professional manner.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must wear uniform supplied by Sakata.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies

 

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  • Custodian and grounds keeper background highly desirable.
  • Metal and wood working skills highly preferred.
  • Basic Irrigation and maintenance skills.
  • Forklift and equipment experience and certifications as needed.
  • Basic Plumbing skills.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must have valid California driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL license.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have ability to perform work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have ability to lift over 50 pounds on a regular/daily basis.
  • Must be able to work with chemicals and other irritating substances.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear when required.
  • Must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work around excessive noise and wear hearing protection as needed.

  • Salary: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
